Standing at the Threshold of a New Year

By Heidi Sadecky, MA,PCC – Executive Coach & Director, Townsend Leadership Program

As we stand at the threshold of a new year, I'm thinking of you and extending warm wishes for the Christmas season. This time of year is the ideal time to reflect on favorite things, isn’t it? Here are some of mine:

Fridays with Knobby:

Every Friday, I immerse myself in a rejuvenating routine at a horse farm, where I engage in training and workouts alongside my cherished equine friend, Knobby. Despite his age and blindness, Knobby serves as a remarkable teacher, imparting wisdom and lessons in trust and resilience. Our connection runs deep, offering a profound source of solace and inspiration. These Fridays with Knobby are truly treasured moments in my week.

Monarch Butterflies and their Magic:

A few years ago, I began raising monarch butterflies. Witnessing their transformation has become a symbol of renewal and reminds me of the endless possibilities that come with each new season.

Adventures with Chris:

Travel adventures with my husband Chris is a source of joy and rejuvenation. Traveling allows us to appreciate the vastness of the world and strengthens our bond through shared experiences. My personal favorites recently are our visits to Alaska and Iceland.

Townsend Leadership Program Connections:

Absolutely! While I guide TLP Groups as a facilitator, I also actively engage in my own personal development by participating in a group myself. Immersing myself in leadership workshops and discussions, particularly within the Townsend Leadership Program in California, has proven to be a pivotal investment in both my professional and personal growth. The enriching exchange of ideas and insights with fellow like-minded individuals consistently fuels inspiration and plays a crucial role in shaping my ongoing journey.

Walking Meetings and Nature's Wisdom:

Embracing a distinctive approach to meetings, I've found joy in replacing traditional coffee shop meetings with walking appointments. The beauty of nature not only invigorates discussions but also sparks creativity and enhances problem-solving. Beyond the professional realm, my love for running with my dogs, hiking, and immersing myself in the great outdoors further fuels my passion for the enriching experiences nature provides.

Cherished Canine Companions:

Willy and Tate, my golden retrievers, bring immeasurable joy to my life. Though Tate left us in September, the memories of his warm personality, wagging tail and loyal companionship remain a cherished part of our home.

Nurturing Growth in Leaders:

Each month, my home transforms into a haven for growth and connection as I host TLP groups. Once a month on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I bring together highly skilled leaders from various industries for a day dedicated to personal and leadership development. This experience is truly one of my cherished highlights. Our day commences with breakfast as a group, then a time where we openly share successes and challenges. Following this, we dive into learning sessions, engage in intimate small-group discussions, and meet with our own personal board of directors. Over the years, these TLP groups have evolved into a close-knit family. I've been hosting these since 2018, and it's truly one of my most favorite and rewarding activities.

As we approach the close of this year, I want to express my deepest appreciation for the shared moments, lessons, and connections. If you'd like to work together in 2024, I invite you to learn more about upcoming TLP Groups.
