More Time, Bolder Goals, and Stronger Relationships

RedShift Advisors is a lower-middle-market investment bank built for entrepreneur-owned companies. Its leaders came to Heidi running hard and wanting more: tighter command of their time, bigger goals within reach, and stronger working relationships under pressure.
“There’s no question, so much of what is learned will impact the entire organization.”
Joe Giangiulio
Director

The Organization

RedShift is an independent investment bank in the lower-middle market. Its work spans strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance, all of it aimed at reducing risk, surfacing opportunities, and maximizing what a business is worth.

The Challenge

The firm wanted a focused, strategic leadership-development program, not a generic workshop. Its executives were pulled in several directions at once: staying on top of relentless workloads, consistently hitting demanding goals, and keeping relationships strong inside the pressure of investment banking. Protecting some work-life balance through all of it mattered to them too.

The Approach

Through the Townsend Leadership Program, one full day a month gave RedShift’s leaders dedicated time to work on the frameworks behind bigger goals and the communication skills behind strong relationships. TLP’s signature small-group format, paired with executive coaching, gave them a place to think through real challenges without judgment and get guidance tailored to their situations, the kind of support that holds up in a demanding environment.

The Outcome

In the small-group sessions, RedShift’s leaders picked up new time-management techniques and a more collaborative way of setting goals, which made those goals both more ambitious and more achievable. The biggest surprise was relational: a focus on empathetic, non-judgmental communication noticeably improved both working and personal relationships, something many participants came to echo.

As director Joe Giangiulio put it: “My only regret is not having attended TLP earlier in my career.”
