The E4 Leadership Program
A four-month leadership program for leaders who want to make headway in a single season.
E4 is Heidi Sadecky’s own leadership program, built on the same foundation as the Townsend Leadership Program and drawn from her 30 years of experience coaching leaders across Western Pennsylvania and beyond.
E4 is four stages in four months: Equip, Explore, Experience, and Excel. Each one builds on the other.
It is a compressed yet complete program. For some leaders, it is also a beginning: a doorway into the full Townsend Leadership Program.
What Is the E4 Leadership Program?
E4 takes the heart of what makes the Townsend Leadership Program work and delivers it in a shorter, more concentrated form. You join a small group of leaders for proven frameworks, structured support, honest input and feedback, and personal coaching, all focused into four months.
The shorter runway changes the rhythm of the program, not its substance. E4 is built for leaders who want accelerated progress in a defined season, because it suits their calendar, their budget, or the moment they find themselves in. It stands on its own. You leave with a concrete plan, new habits, and clearer judgment about the people and decisions in front of you. This is a full program, not a sampler.
How E4 Works: Equip, Explore, Experience, Excel
The program moves through four stages, and together they spell its name:
Equip
You start with a practical toolkit of proven frameworks, shared language, and leadership models that help you lead more intentionally.
Explore
With those tools in hand, you take an honest look inward, at your strengths, your patterns, your blind spots, and the goals worth chasing.
Experience
You put frameworks into real-world practice by applying them to situations you are already facing. As you go, you receive coaching and feedback from Heidi and the group.
Excel
You leave with a proven set of tools to transform your habits, fresh perspectives to expand your thinking, and a clear vision for what’s next.
Emotional Intelligence and Stronger Leadership
Like TLP, E4 develops the whole leader, not just a single skill. You work on:
- The self-awareness that shapes how you handle pressure.
- The emotional intelligence that shapes how you interact with people.
- The strengths you can lead from.
- The relationships that carry your work.
- The goals that have been waiting for your attention.
Heidi brings concrete tools to this work, including assessments from CliftonStrengths, the EQ-i 2.0, and the EQ360. That means the work you do, and the roadmap you generate for yourself, are grounded in specific insight about how you operate. Generic leadership advice has no place here.
Who the E4 Program Is For
E4 fits a particular kind of leader and moment:
- You might be moving into a bigger role and want to be ready for it.
- You might be carrying a specific challenge you want to work through with help.
- You might have your eye on more visible leadership work and want a focused way to approach it.
- You might know on a deep level that you have more to give, but don’t know how to bring it out of yourself or prove it to others.
What E4 asks of you is what a truly worthwhile program asks: honesty. A willingness to be coached. The discipline to show up. The commitment to follow through. And the timeline is just four months.
E4 and the Townsend Leadership Program
People often ask how E4 relates to the Townsend Leadership Program. The simplest answer: E4 is the focused four-month experience, and TLP is the full year.
Some leaders do E4 and find it is exactly what they needed. Others discover partway through that they want to keep going, and they move into TLP to do the deeper, longer work with a cohort. Neither path is the right or wrong one. They are two honest ways into the same work.
If you’re ready for a 12-month leadership journey, you can begin with TLP directly.

WHY HEIDI
E4 Is Heidi Sadecky’s Own Program
TLP comes from Dr. John Townsend, with Heidi’s directorship. E4 comes from Heidi. Through her familiarity with TLP and with leaders in the region and the challenges they face, she built E4 to serve those leaders when a shorter commitment is the better fit for where they are.
That means E4 carries both the rigor of the TLP foundation and the judgment of someone who has sat with hundreds of leaders and knows how to size up scenarios quickly, apply tools surgically, honor the journey that brought you here, and protect the dignity of the people who depend on you.
